Established in 2023

EcoNorth was started in 2023 but is based on years of experience in this field and in the local area. Our team has a diverse set of skills and backgrounds, but we all love the Northwoods and the ecology here.

Our Goal

We want to help landowners and managers achieve their ecological goals in a simple, efficient manner. The Northwoods is a healthier place when we work together to create functional, beautiful ecosystems.

Michael Sinclair
Owner

My background is in ecological restoration and forest, prairie, and coastal plant studies. I'm excited that at EcoNorth I get to help landowners and managers sustainably manage their properties in a changing climate. Before EcoNorth, I co-owned Bay Area Environmental Consulting in Washburn WI.
I graduated from Northland College in 2016 with degrees in Ecological Restoration and Geology. In 2019, I received a Master’s degree in Plant Ecology from Virginia Commonwealth University.

Zuzu Hartman
Crew Leader

 Zuzu Hartman has worked with EcoNorth since May 2025 and graduated from Northland College in 2025 with a degree in Natural Resources with an emphasis in fisheries and wildlife and a minor in biology. Zuzu's prev ious experience includes working with the US Forest Service as an intern wildlife technician and as a foreman for Summit Bechtel Reserve. She is passionate about conservation and restoration of native habitats and the wildlife that live there.
